Crowns, Inlays & Onlays

Porcelain crowns are a very successful option for repairing cracked, broken, decayed or heavily filled teeth. A crown completely covers the damaged tooth above the gum line and so protects it and, as crowns are very strong, they can look and feel exactly like natural teeth. As with veneers, the colour is matched to that of your own teeth.

To repair damage to the tooth's biting surface, we may recommend an inlay, or an onlay. An inlay is similar to a filling and lies inside the cusp tips of the tooth, being custom-made to fit and then cemented into place. An onlay is more extensive and covers one or more cusps of a tooth.
